Jake Wagner focuses on acquisitions, homebuilder relations, and contract negotiations as co–chief executive officer for the Republic Property Group (RPG), which specializes in large, master-planned residential communities in north Texas. RPG’s recent projects include the 957-acre (387 ha) Phillips Creek Ranch in Frisco, and Light Farms in Celina, a family-oriented, 1,070-acre (433 ha) development.
Wagner says one of ways that RPG strives to embed itself in the community and the heritage of the land is through the use of public art created by local artisans. The firm commissioned the installation of 30 bronze horses throughout the Philips Creek Ranch, a former quarter horse farm, and worked with local artists to purchase and restore two barns and a number of vintage tractors to be used as public art thoughtfully placed throughout the Light Farms community.
Jake was also influential in developing an on-site Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program at Light Farms, for which RPG teamed up with a local urban farm to provide fresh, locally grown organic produce directly to the community and its residents beginning in spring 2015.
“As a real estate developer, we have the ability to influence lives and really impact the permanent landscape,” Wagner says. “By having that ability, we have a responsibility to make a difference by creating projects that enhance not only the economic but also the social fabric of our cities.”
